| GUILTY !!! GUILTY !!! GUILTY !!! September 20, 2008 ~ Joey Scolari and Scolari's Food & Drug Company agree to settle Sexual Harassment Lawsuits for $425,000.00. Predatorial acts targeted 19 young women and teenage girls aged 16 to 30. Three Federal Judges refused to dismiss the case because of culpability by the owners. EEOC cited managerial "culture" and though the case was restricted to Reno, there were more instances elsewhere, including California. Note ~ from the San Luis Obispo Tribune report: "A quote from Chief Executive Officer Joey Scolari said the company is “committed to ensuring a workplace environment free of harassment and discrimination” and “proud of our record for the past 50 years.” The statement also carries a warning that echoes, nearly word for word, a statement Stampfli made to The Tribune about the case in 2007: “Scolari’s has zero tolerance for harassment or discrimination. Moreover, Scolari’s has zero tolerance for associates who wrongfully and falsely accuse their co-associates of harassment or discrimination.” * ~~~~~~~~~~ * Silver State News interprets this statement as Scolari utilizing the Press to issue threats to his victims and "Threatening Witnesses," a violation of Federal Law. |
