Judge Chuck Weller identified as target of would-be-assassin. Judge Weller was wounded in today's shooting; SWAT still searching for sniper in Reno area. Police believe sniper utilized a rifle in the commission of the crime.

from Cheapskate Hill and Public (BLM ~ where I was
standing for this shot), along with privately owned land
that RARA does not own nor has any business trying to
control, so there! They send the Jeep Nazis out to try
and throw people off the lands, including illicit
attempts to force the Press out, however, if RARA doesn't
have permission to run their Air Race over Public or
Private Lands, then they are strictly in violation of
their contract with the AAWC (and we know for a fact that
they have been for years while the corrupt at the AAWC
cover for them...), and they are in violation of both
State and Federal Laws which prohibit overflight of
people, property, buildings, equipment, vehicles, et al,
at anything less than 500 feet without an appropriate
waiver which must include statements from the property
owners in writing giving RARA permission to overfly their
property with a racecourse. RARA can only overfly AAWC
lands, which are separated by BLM Public Land and a
considerable amount of Privately owned property,
particularly on the North end. Then there's the issue of
those dangerous telephone poles on the West side,
adjacent to the Valley of Speed. And some poles on the
infield, too! Just over a week to PRS...should be interesting! <G> RARA's Financial F~K Fest! Ante Up! Exorbitant Prices! Bad Food! High Cost of Getting In! And this happens to the Air Racers! Everyone else gets in free, though Mickey Da Rat is reportedly thinking about charging entrance fees to fans... Just the same, an interesting year. Ron Buccarelli will arrive to fly Rare Bear on the course in preparation for his assault on the Gold this year. Folks are wondering if Wildfire will appear. Dozens of racers are expected for the mock Reno Air Race Parade through Downtown Reno on the 20th and 21st of June. Film crews will be on site during PRS to gather footage for the upcoming, Thunder Over Reno. They call it the "World's Fastest Love Story!" I hear it's the first feature length film to last only fifteen minutes! <G> The Rodeo will be in town (See Below) at the same time as PRS so daytime and nighttime entertainment abound. And from what we're hearing, it's open season on Bearz! Wanted! Dead or Alive! Preferably Dead! Okay, racers ~ line up for your $1.98 cent reward plus a $50,000 bonus if you bag a Bear on the course in the vicinity of Cheapskate Hill! You're going to need the money to get into PRS, so you'd better be Semper Vigilantes on the ridgeline just East of Stead, where the BLM Public Land is...make sure your guns are cleaned and freshly armored!
