Publisher Editor Mark S. "Bear" Daniels' Message To His Reporters:

Gentlemen:

I don't have a response from Lyle...this is all I need, though. Dated 2006.

www.rarebear.com

Scroll to the bottom of the page...Sagar's Airport Fence has taken over the site again.

After helping Lyle rid himself of this low-life, selfish individual, who had tried to harm him along with another in a most despicable way, I consider this a personal betrayal and a slap in the face that no fan of this once, heroic, good man, should ever take. Too demeaning. I am ending all contact with, and support of, Shelton and the Rare Bear Air Racing Team, along with all Air Racing, as an end result.

The King is Dead. There is no new King. The weasels are fighting among themselves for the crown.

There will be a major announcment in 48 hours. And some additional Earth Shaking news to go along with it as I expose those in the Sport ~ racers themselves ~ doing their utmost to hurt it.

Silver State News and ILIPS Group will be dropping all U.S. Air Racing coverage. Air Shows and Warbirds strictly, from here on out. If there are demo races at Air Show events, like Oshkosh, my lens will be pointed elsewhere. I will not support Air Racing anywhere in the United States. I will not accept any further U.S. Air Racing submissions.

Bob Avery and Jeff Landers are CC'd on this. I consider them the good guys, however, I cannot support their drawing from such a despicable lot of losers, which describes those in Air Racing who submit in lowly ways to the likes of guys like Mike Houghton, or who actually listen to and believe the lies of guys like Wayne Sagar or Jim Campbell, the latter at ANN.

I may take up coverage in Europe, where chivalry was born and still exists in Air Racing, and the competition is clean and pure there, like the waters of Walden's Pond. So this applies strictly to the corruption of the U.S. Sport. That does not mean, however, that I will take up European coverage. Europe lacks the epic nature of the event; the U.S. lacks the chivalry. The entire Sport is dead as far as I am concerned.

Either way, I have had my fill. I intend to devote myself to the litigation against these fiends, and to writing about other more worthwhile subjects at my websites.

Our next headline: Air Racing is dead in the United States. I'm declaring that fact within 48 hours. It's been a slow, ugly, demise. Good riddance!

If any of you associated with my Publishing Group (ILIPS Group Writers and Photographers only) wish to continue to provide U.S. Air Racing coverage, I will give you The Home Pylon .Net, .Com and .Org, and you're welcome to prove me wrong. I will even provide the server space, all free, to get you started. The only condition: the Websites are not to be sold to Houghton, Sagar, or any other of the fiends I'm fighting to the death! Once you are underway, I would ask that you move the sites to another server. The thought of any further involvement with this Sport makes me ill.

In ending Air Racing coverage, I am terminating my coverage of bad conduct in U.S. Air Racing, and that applies to and incorporates all U.S. Air Racing, Closed-course or Cross Country, all involved in said bad conduct, and all who have turned their heads the other way instead of doing the right thing by their fellow competitors, the fans, and the Sport.

I will take Houghton et al, Sagar and the other rogues in U.S. Air Racing down and put them in prison, and the rest can just go put their airplanes back in Musuems where they belong. U.S. Air Racing ~ particularly Closed Course ~ is a total waste of perfectly good airplanes and what were once good, human, humane, lives.

If Chivalry is dead, then obviously, so too, U.S. Air Racing is along with it. And I'm going to raise a stink about that fact! Since it is their stink, they'll know who it belongs to and they will have the opportunity to hang all their heads in shame!

However, I'll lay down a substantial wager that they all wind up pointing the finger at each other, as opposed to seeking and taking responsibility for their actions and their failures, as well as the failure of U.S. Air Racing as a direct result.

AMF to all of them. Our close allies in Air Racing know whom they are, and know that this will not apply negatively to them. They gave it their best shot, too. Jeff and Bob are excluded from all criticisms. I mean them no harm. They're getting this along with you, merely as FYI. They can no longer count on my support, but that is not their fault. They have done nothing wrong.

U.S. Air Racing is beyond dead, it's
Brain Dead. The body's still moving because it hasn't gotten the memo yet. Time to send the memo by pulling the plug.

No one should invest money or time in the people of this sport, their aircraft or their Teams, any further!

My guyz, look towards other subjects that are of interest to you...there's limitless amounts of Press we can give to other, good, worthy, noble, causes. Air Racing just isn't one of them anymore.

This month has marked the 30th Anniversary of my involvement in the Sport, which began in June, 1976, at Mojave, and further, can be traced back via the Love I once had for it, to the days of the California 1000 and guys like Shelton and Clay Lacy. I am unofficially the second photograher in the history of this, The World's Fastest Motorsport, to fly in an Unlimited Class Air Racer during an actual, non-demo, heat race (Mojave, 1979). I may actually be the first but will not and have NEVER made the claim since I do not possess undeniable proof.

However, my time in Air Racing, as well as my Publications, which have invested thousands of hours and tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in time and effort, over a thirty year period, will end forever in 48 hours.

And I could not be happier!

Best Regards,
