Another angle featuring the same two UH-60A Blackhawks, among the very first operational in Europe by the mid-1980s.

Crewmembers and children gathered around the Blackhawks near Krautheim. The U.S. Army would lease a farmer's field, have our 189th ATC Company (FWD) transport in by vehicle, set up a Tactical Army Air Field using the trees for cover and field lighting to mark the airfield. The pilots would operate at night with Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) to pick up the low illumination lighting, thereby finding the field. GCA would also accompany the ATC unit providing Ground Controlled Approach Radar to aircraft operating in inclement weather or practicing for the same.
