An over-the-shoulder view of the runway at Frankfurt Rhein-Main AFB before takeoff in a World Airways DC-10-30CF, N605WA (?). The Editor flew jump seat on May 24, 1985, from frankfurt, West Germany, to Charleston AFB, South Carolina, en route to a new assignment at Ft. Stewart, Georgia.

A North American P-51D Mustang at Reno Stead in 1981. The aircraft is possibly "Ho Hun!," or Bill Destefani's "Mangia Pane," but further photo searches are necessary to pin down the I.D. To the best of my recollection, "Mangia Pane" had it's name on both sides of the cowling. Once I find its photo, then I can confirm one way or the other.

Bob Guilford's Vought F4U Corsair, Race 93, the "Blue Max," at Reno in 1981. Guilford's aircraft was one of those used in the filming of the Television Series, "Baa Baa Blacksheep," based loosely on the life of Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington, USMC.

Mrvin "Lefty" Gardner's Lockheed P-38 Lightning, Race 13, "White Lightning," at the 1981 Reno National Championship Air Races.

Bob Guilford over the Valley of Speed in his F4U Corsair, Race 93, "The Blue Max." This was taken during the final years when one could enter the Valley of Speed on foot and photograph the racers as they passed directly over you.
